Broward's Superintendent Apologizes For Bible Flap

I'm sorry...

That's the word from Broward's Superintendent Robert Runcie after a 5th grader at Park Lakes Elementary is mistakenly banned from reading the bible during "free reading" time.

Runcie tells "South Florida's First News" the teacher wasn't aware of the policy and that's why she called the boy's dad.

The principal has met with all teachers and staffers to clarify the policy which allows students to read religious material during non-instructional time.

The boy's family may take legal action.
