The Miami Dolphins, as predicted, selected a tackle as their first pick in the National Football League draft Thursday night.

The 19th overall pick was Ja'Wuan James out of the University of Tennessee.

Sun Sentinel Sports Columnist Dave Hyde analyzed the move with Jimmy Cefalo on WIOD's South Florida's First News.

Hyde says it is what fans were expecting, saying it fills a desperate need and also serves the purpose of helping further look at Ryan Tannehill's skills as quarterback this season.

Palm Beach Post Dolphins writer Andrew Abramson also spoke on the draft on the morning news program and echoed the sentiment that it was a necessary offensive line pick.

But, Abramson did question the value of going for James in the first round since there were good receivers available as well as Texas A&M University star quarterback Johnny Manziel at the time of the Dolphins' number 19 selection.

As of right now, if no trades are made with other teams, Miami has one selection in each of Friday's second and third rounds of the draft.
