The Labor Department won't be releasing jobs numbers today.
The forecast was that the unemployment rate remained at 7.3 percent.
But, we won't know for sure, because the Labor Department is mostly closed because of the federal shutdown.
Florida International University economist Jorge Salazar Carrillo says the trouble in Washington will not negatively affect job creation, but it certainly won't help.
He says Florida is doing a little better than the rest of the nation because of strong tourism and real estate industry numbers.
But, Salazar Carrillo says the unemployment rate will likely remain steady for the next few months and won't drop below 7 percent.
The Labor Department has not set an alternative release date for the jobless rate.
