Black lawmakers in Tallahassee are calling on Governor Scott and G-O-P leaders to cut them some slack on the state's Stand Your Ground law.

Senator Chris Smith says their efforts to modify the controversial self-defense law have been ignored.

Representative Alan Williams chairs the black caucus in the state legislature and he says they're looking for help anywhere they can get it, including the Governor's office.

But time is running short.

There are just three weeks left in the legislative session and lawmakers are taking the week off for Passover and Easter holidays.
