Miami Nigerians To Rally In Support Of Kidnapped School Girls
Posted Friday, May 16th 2014 @ 4am

South Florida Nigerian-Americans, building on the social media campaign that has made the "hashtagged" term "Bring Back Our Girls" (#bringbackourgirls) popular across the globe, have planned a rally in Miami Gardens for Saturday to demonstrate in support of the more than 300 Nigerian girls who were kidnapped last month from their school by an Islamist extremist group.

The kidnapping staged by the Boko Haram terrorist network has gained widespread attention, as the social media campaign has gone viral since the April 15th attack.

Dozens of girls are said to have escaped, but at least 276 girls remain missing.

Attendees to the South Florida rally are asked to wear the colors of the Nigerian flag, either white or green.

The event is set to take place Saturday at 10:00 a.m. at Rolling Oaks Park, 18701 N.W. 17th Court.
