Protests Expected at Robin Williams Service

Robin Williams is the latest protest target of the Westboro Baptist Church.

The fundamentalist Kansas-based group, known for its extreme ideals, announced via Twitter Saturday that it would picket the funeral for the late Oscar winner.

Westboro is apparently targeting Williams' tolerance of homosexuality, accusing him of making "merchandise of filthy proud sin."  Williams played a gay man in the movie "The Birdcage."

At least one group is countering the group's picket plans by launching a fundraiser for an organization Williams supported in his lifetime.  The co-founder of Planting Peace tells "The Huffington Post" proceeds from the fundraiser will go to St. Jude's Children's Hospital.

Friends and family are reportedly gathering in Northern California for a private memorial for Williams who died last Monday of an apparent suicide. Details about the service have not been disclosed.

Friends and family of Robin Williams are reportedly gathering in Northern California to remember the late actor.

Sources tell the "New York Daily News," a small, low key memorial is expected to take place, although it's not known when or where.
