An anti-war protest is set for Thursday night outside Florida Senator Bill Nelson's Miami office.
Organizer Cassia Laham of the group People's Opposition to War, Imperialism, and Racism (POWIR) says they have a message for Nelson that he needs to vote against any bill calling for military action in Syria.
Nelson has said he'd like diplomatic action to work, but believes the United States should go ahead with a limited strike anyway.
Congress has delayed a vote on the matter for now, as it waits to be see what happens with Russia's proposal to place Syria's chemical weapons under international control.
Other protests are taking place in Gainesville, Tampa, Jacksonville, and Tallahassee as part of POWIR's statewide call to action against any military authorization bill.
