UPDATE 5/30 5:50pm

It looks like the struggle to get Donald Sterling out of the NBA is getting uglier and uglier.

ESPN is reporting that Sterling has filed a billion dollar lawsuit against the league citing anti-trust, breach of contract, and constitutional rights violations.

Sterling's wife Shelly has recently agreed to sell the LA Clippers to Microsoft CEO Steve Ballmer for 2 billion dollars.

UPDATE 5/29 9:30 PM

LOS ANGELES (AP) — An individual with knowledge of negotiations to sell the Los Angeles Clippers says Shelly Sterling has reached an agreement to sell the team to former Microsoft CEO Steve Ballmer for $2 billion.

The individual, who wasn't authorized to speak publicly, told The Associated Press on Thursday that Ballmer and the Sterling Family Trust now have a binding agreement. The deal now must be presented to the NBA.

Shelly Sterling negotiated the sale after her husband, Donald Sterling, made racist remarks that were made public. Donald Sterling must also approve the final agreement as a 50 percent owner. His attorneys say that won't happen.

Ballmer beat out bids by Guggenheim Partners and a group including former NBA All-Star Grant Hill.

====================================================

We now know who the top bidder is in trying to buy the LA Clippers.

ESPN and the Los Angeles Times are reporting former Microsoft C-E-O Steve Ballmer has won the bid to buy the Clippers for 2-billion-dollars.

The deal must still be reviewed and approved by Donald Sterling.

The reported deal comes less than a week before NBA owners were set to meet to oust Clippers owner Donald Sterling.
