Shooting Investigation Of Unarmed Man By Officers To Come To A Close

Prosecutors say an investigation into the shooting of an unarmed caretaker of an autistic man by a North Miami Beach Police Officer will be finished soon .

The incident happened last July and cell phone video shows Charles Kinsey on the ground with his hands up before the shot was fired.

Kinsey was trying coax an autistic man back to a group home when he was shot by North Miami Police Officer Jonathan Aledda in the middle of an intersection.

A union official has said the officer was aiming for the autistic man because he thought he was a threat, but the officer missed and hit the therapist.

Police Chief Gary Eugene says the officer fired the shot despite orders not to do so.
