'Kids Caravan' Takes a Stand Against the President's Immigration Policies in D.C.

Hundreds of kids will be in President Trump's backyard to take a stand against his immigration policies.

Instead of hitting the beach this spring break, about 40 kids from South Florida are making a trip to Washington D.C. to join fellow "We Belong Together Kids Caravan" members from New York and Washington.  The children will lock arms to show their bond in front of the White House Thursday.

Their goal is to speak out against the current administration's stance on immigration. Leah, an 11-year-old member of the Miami group, says she's there for her mom.

"I want to fight for my mother.  I don't want her to get deported back to her country because I love her so much and I think that all immigrants should have freedom and stay in their communities," said Leah.

Organizers say the most of the children are undocumented immigrants or have family members who are.

The Women's Refugee Commission will Facebook Live the #WeBelongTogether Kids Caravan taking on Washington D.C. Thursday at 1:00 p.m.
