University of Miami's Baseball Playoff Streak Ends After 44 Years

The University of Miami's run of 44 consecutive appearances in the NCAA baseball postseason came to an end Monday after the Hurricane hardballers were left out of the national tournament.

The Canes won seven of their last ten games to finish the year at 31-27 but it was not enough to earn an at-large bid for a chance to play for the College World Series.

The record streak may be equalled soon, after Florida State earned its 40th consecutive NCAA berth after winning the ACC tournament championship on Sunday.

The Seminoles will host an opening round regional, as will the Florida Gators.
