Miami Mother, 19, In Coma After Being Shot In Head In Road Rage Incident

Just one day after a Palm Beach County man was killed along I-95, another road rage incident leaves a 19-year-old Miami woman in the hospital in a coma and with a gunshot wound to the head.

Alyssa Sanchez, was riding in her boyfriend's car early Monday morning when someone in another car fired shots, according to the victim's brother Lazaro Sanchez.

Miami police say they found a white Cadillac decorated with bullet holes on Southwest 14th Street and 27th Avenue. Detectives have not identified the victims involved, but family said Sanchez was shot in the head when her boyfriend got into an argument with strangers in another vehicle.

The 19-year-old girl was the only one hit in the incident. Her boyfriend drove her to Jackson Memorial Hospital after the shooting, police say. At last check, she remains in a medically-induced coma.

Her brother tells authorities that his sister is in critical condition.

The shooter or shooters are still on the loose. Anyone with information is urged to call Miami-Dade Crime Stoppers at 305-471-TIPS.
