Officers in Broward County are trying to identify a woman who got more than she bargained for when buying food at McDonald's.

Authorities say the woman walked into a Deerfield Beach McDonald's around 7:15 p.m. on June 12, ordered a happy meal and proceeded to walk out of the establishment with her McNuggets... AND an iPad.

After the suspect ordered her meal, authorities say she went to the restroom. In the meantime, another customer stepped up to the counter and put down his iPad while he placed his order. The man walked over to the soda machine to fill his cup leaving the iPad behind, police say.

When the suspect returned to pick up her food, authorities say the iPad caught her eye.

Though the owner of the tablet was standing a couple of feet away from his iPad, he allegedly didn’t notice when the woman looked around, grabbed the device and walked away.

The suspect arrived alone in a white SUV, police say, but she is seen leaving with a young girl who had allegedly been inside the McDonald’s with another lady.

Anyone who can identify the woman, the young girl or the woman accompanying the young girl is asked to call BSO Detective Chris Caldwell at 954-480-4287.

If you wish to remain anonymous, contact Broward Crime Stoppers at 954-493-TIPS (8477) or online at www.browardcrimestoppers.org. Anonymous tips that lead to an arrest are eligible for a reward of up to $3,000.
