Mistrial Declared In Florida Father Accused Of Quadruple Murder

A quadruple murder trial ended in Tallahassee Wednesday with no verdict.

After two days of jury deliberations, the judge declared a mistrial in the case of Henry Segura.

Segura is accused of killing his girlfriend, Brandi Peters, along with her three children, one of whom was also his child, in November 2010, at their Saddle Creek Run home.

Prosecutors say the evidence presented over the past three weeks points to Segura, including confessions, cell phone records and more -- but the defense passionately argued that the investigation wasn’t thorough and that Segura isn’t capable of murdering three children and their mother. The defense also maintained that Peters was executed by a drug cartel she had ripped off.

Segura will be back in court next week as the judge sets a date for a new trial with a new jury.

If convicted, Segura could face the death penalty.
