A man in Miami-Dade was killed Sunday following a three-vehicle collision involving a public transit bus, police said.
Luisdan Menendez, 24, was driving a Ford Mustang east on West Flager Street at 50th Avenue shortly before 5 p.m. when he somehow lost control, veered into oncoming traffic and struck the Miami-Dade Transit bus, authorities say.
The impact sent the Mustang crashing into a Toyota Corolla that was traveling on Flagler Street. The vehicle was split in half.
Menendez was pronounced dead at the scene.
There were about 40 people on the bus at the time, but no one was injured. The driver of the Corolla also wasn't injured.
Police continue to investigate but believe that speed may play a role in the cause of the crash.
