Broward County Mayor Barbara Sharief has issued mandatory evacuations starting at 12 p.m. Thursday.
The mandatory evacuation impacts all residents in coastal areas east of Federal Highway and barrier islands, as well as low lying areas and trailer homes.
Sharief says 14 shelters will open at that time.
