Over the past 14 days, three unsolved murders have shaken the Tampa area. Now, police are saying that the unexplained slayings are connected.
Police have not been able to identify a suspect or motive, but said the killings are believed to be linked to each other.
But Police Chief Brian Dugan has declined to describe the incidents as the work of a serial killer, citing not enough evidence.
The victims include:
- 22-year-old college student Benjamin Mitchell
- Shot dead while waiting for a bus on Oct. 9
- 32-year-old sign language teacher Monica Hoffa
- Shot on Oct. 11
- 20-year-old Anthony Naiboa
- Killed on Oct. 19
- His body was found 300 yards from Mitchell's
Authorities say the entire community remains on alert.
