Manhattan Bike Path Attacker Used To Live In Tampa, Records Indicate

The suspect in the Manhattan bike path attack that resulted in the death of at least eight people previously lived in Tampa, according to property records.

Sayfullo Saipov is from Uzbekistan and registered as an Uzbeck national when he immigrated in 2010. He is a permanent resident, by way of a Green Card.

At some point, Saipov lived in a Tampa apartment, which the FBI investigated on Tuesday.

It is not clear if the FBI agents were talking to former neighbors or entered in an apartment that the suspect still rented.

Saipov also lived in a city just outside of Cleveland, Ohio. His most recent address is believed to have been in Patterson, N.J.

Saipov, who drove trucks for a living, had a number of traffic offenses to which he pleaded guilty and paid fines.

Law enforcement sources said Saipov left a note in the truck he used to carry out the attack in which he indicated he was inspired by the Islamic State, also known as ISIS, Daesh and ISIL.
