Several Palmetto Bay schools are currently under lockdown.
Miami-Dade said they are looking for a subject in the vicinity and schools are being locked down as a precaution.
A perimeter has been set up between Southwest 144th Street and 152nd Street to the north and south, and 67th Avenue to Old Cutler Road to the east and west.
