A total of nine people were injured during a Thursday fire at a high-rise building in Sunny Isles Beach.
Miami-Dade Fire Rescue says five people were treated outside of Winston Towers at 301 174th St. and four were rushed to the hospital. Two of the victims, one elderly, were listed in critical condition.
Lt. Felipe Lay said the fire started in the kitchen of an apartment on the 17th floor.
The exact cause is still under investigation.
