Fewer Americans are filing first-time claims for unemployment benefits.
The Labor Department on Thursday announced initial claims for benefits fell by 10,000 for the week ending last Saturday to a seasonally adjusted 210,000.
It the lowest level since December of 1969, and the Labor Department says it points to a rapidly tightening labor market.
The Federal Reserve considers the labor market to be at or near full employment, with the jobless rate of 4.1 percent at a 17-year low.
