New Study Ranks States With Worst Gun Violence

Five of the 10 deadliest states for gun violence are in Southern United States.

"24/7 Wall Street" used data on gun violence provided by the Center for Disease Control to create their list, looking at both suicides and homicides. 

Alaska was the worst state, with 23 deaths for every 100,000.  The next three were Louisiana, Mississippi, and Oklahoma.  

More than half of all firearm fatalities were suicides.

Florida clocked in at number 26 overall.
