The Royal Wedding Is Months Away, But Everyone's Making Party Plans

The wedding of Prince Harry and Meghan Markle isn't until May 19th, but fans are already planning their viewing parties.

The royal nuptials will fall on a Saturday, beginning at 7 a.m. Eastern time in the U.S. For some, that means pajamas for high tea. Others plan to squeeze into old wedding gowns to watch, fascinators in place.

recent AP-NORC Center for Public Affairs Research poll shows 19 percent of Americans are very or extremely likely to watch the marital hoopla. Another 20 percent said they’re somewhat likely to tune in.

Hotels are also gearing up.

The Brazilian Court Hotel in Palm Beach, Florida, has on offer the “Royal Romance Suits You” package for a cool $24,000 with a swanky, four-night stay in its “Brando Suite.”

Kristin Contino of Philadelphia is among those Americans with plans to fly to Windsor to watch in person.

Gossip columnist Rob Shuter is a Brit, a royal wedding podcaster and former executive editor of OK! Magazine. He says the wedding has become a way for "all of us to escape."
