Pulse Shooter's Father Was FBI Informant, Salman's Attorneys Say

Attorneys for the Pulse nightclub gunman's widow are again trying to overturn the charges against her.

Noor Salman is accused of obstruction of justice and aiding and abetting Omar Mateen's attack on the Orlando nightclub in which 49 people were killed in June 2016.

Late Sunday night, the defense reportedly filed a new motion seeking either dismissal of the case or a mistrial, claiming that prosecutors failed to disclose information regarding Mateen's father.

They say prosecutors revealed that Mateen's father was an FBI informant. Prosecutors allegedly sent an email on Saturday that stated Seddique Mateen was a confidential FBI source from 2005 until 2016, according to a motion filed by the defense.

Salman's lawyers allege the new revelation prevented them from investigating whether or not Seddique Mateen knew of his son's plans to attack the nightclub.

Salman's attorneys are scheduled to begin calling their witnesses on Monday.
