Officials in Monroe County say a brush fire on Big Pine Key is about 40-percent contained.
Fire crews were working overnight to keep the blaze from spreading after it burned about 100 acres.
Emergency Management Director Marty Senterfitt told the "Miami Herald" that there have been no injuries so far.
Non-residents of Big Pine Key are urged to avoid the area.
