BSO Hosts National Prayer Day Event

Broward County Sheriff Scott Israel leading a group of faith leaders for a National Prayer Day event at BSO headquarters.

Israel has held an event to mark the event every years since 2013.

Pastors and rabbis offered prayers to the county and the nation, and also to first responders, children, families, and elected officials.

National Prayer Day was started by President Harry Truman in 1952, as a way of promoting freedom of religion, which is outlined in the first amendment to the U.S. constitution.
