Miami Cop Caught On Video Kicking Handcuffed Man

A Miami Police officer is off the force after video shows him kicking a handcuffed man in the head. The video posted on social media was recorded in an Overtown apartment complex. It shows the unidentified officer running toward a man on the ground wearing handcuffs. The man does not appear to be resisting arrest.

The video shows the officer kicking the man and then jumping on him as backup arrives.

Miami Police Chief Jorge Colina issued a statement confirming that officer has been fired:

"On today’s date, the City of Miami Police Department received a video on an incident involving one of my officers. The video depicts a clear violation of policy. The officer has been relieved of duty and the Miami-Dade State Attorney’s Office has been contacted."

State Attorney Katherine Fernandez-Rundle said, "I have watched today’s Culmer Place video involving a uniformed City of Miami Police Officer and I was shocked and appalled by what I saw.  Assistant State Attorney Johnette Hardiman, of my Public Corruption Unit, has been assigned to immediately open an investigation."
