Video Shows Miami-Dade Officer Beat Daughter Inside Her School

Newly released video shows a Miami-Dade Police officer accused of beating his daughter slapping the girl in the face and grabbing her hair inside of her school as staff members sit nearby.

Officer Raymond Rosario, 44, was arrested on a child abuse charge in the March 19 incident, which happened at Pinecrest Cove Preparatory Academy in Miami.

According to an arrest report, Rosario was called to the school after a teacher said she had been disrespected by the officer's 14-year-old daughter. 

Rosario then went to the school and asked for his daughter to be brought to the main office.

The surveillance video shows:

  • The teen walk into the office 
    • She's slapped in the face and shoved by Rosario before he grabs her by the hair
  • Rosario hit the teen with a belt on her legs twice 
  • Rosario also punched her in the face, according to the report
  • At least two school employees in the office during the incident

Rosario surrendered to authorities on April 2. He has been suspended while the incident is being investigated. 

Court records showed he has pleaded not guilty to the charge.
