Miami Beach Taking Steps To Minimize Wildlife Problems In City

Officials in Miami Beach are taking action to minimize wildlife problems within the city limits.

On Wednesday, the city commission gave tentative approval to increased fines for anyone caught with livestock or dangerous animals.

That follows recent incidents in which a woman in a bikini rode a horse through a club in South Beach and a Miami-Dade County high school prom featured a caged tiger.

If the strengthened ordinance gains final approval, repeated violations could result in fines of up to $10,000 and loss of a business license.
