A Broward School Board member has announced that she will not seek reelection, paving the way for the parent of a Marjory Stoneman Douglas shooting victim to automatically take over her seat.
Less than a week after Lori Alhadeff, mother of Alyssa Alhadeff, announced her candidacy, Abby Freedman announced she's of the running.
Alhadeff says she appreciates Freedman's service and will work every day to make her proud.
Ryan Petty, who also lost his daughter, Alaina Petty, in the shooting, recently announced he would also run against incumbent Donna Korn.
