New York Stock Exchange Gets First-Ever Female President

For the first time in its 226-year history, the New York Stock Exchange officially has a female president.

Stacy Cunningham, now former Chief Operating Officer Stacey, took over as the NYSE's 67th president today.  She is replacing Thomas Farley, who ran the stock exchange since 2013.

Cunningham kicked off her career on the trading floor as a summer intern for JJC Specialist in 1994.

Her appointment means both the New York Stock Exchange and the Nasdaq exchange are being run by women.
