A mother is dead, a father in jail and a Miami-Dade judge has given temporary custody of the couple's children to a paternal aunt. Relatives say the mother, 33-year-old Maribel Torres. hasn't been seen Thanksgiving. 36-year-old Jimmy Torres is behind bars charged with second-degree murder. Authorities say Jimmy told a friend he killed Maribel with a metal rod and put her body in a box dumped into a canal. Those remains were discovered by detectives this week. The couple's families are now fighting for custody of the kids. A court hearing on that matter is set for Tuesday.
