Florida Scores Big On Annual School Report Card

The school year may be over, but the grades are still pouring in. And Florida's annual school report card contains some good news this year.

The Department of Education announced on Wednesday that more schools throughout the Sunshine State scored either an A or a B compared to last year, and fewer schools scored an F.

The yearly school report card is based on how well students do overall on standardized tests in reading, math, social studies and science.

Education Commissioner Pam Stewart said the grades are the result of hard work by students, parents, teachers and leaders.
