Diving Trip Leads To Tragedy For Group In Florida Keys

A day of diving led to tragedy for a group of divers in the Florida Keys.

According to authorities, two men told deputies with the Monroe County Sheriff's Office that they and another man were taking turns diving in about 22-foot deep water near Cottrell Key on Tuesday.

At about 7 p.m. Jonathan Saporito didn't resurface, according to the men.

They tugged on the air line, but when he didn't respond, they pulled him up and began CPR.

According to authorities, the 31-year-old never regained consciousness.

An autopsy is planned, but foul play is not suspected, police said.
