Actor Alan Alda Opens Up About Parkinson's Diagnosis

Alan Alda wants people to know he has Parkinson's disease, and he's doing well.

The award-winning actor, director, and writer said Tuesday on CBS This morning that he was diagnosed in 2015. He also said he's had a full life since being diagnosed.

Alda says he's acted, given talks, and started a new podcast.

He said he has hardly any symptoms other than noticing his thumb twitch.

Alda admitted that he thought it was only a matter of time before someone did a story on his condition from a sad point of view, but he says that that's not where he is.

Alda starred in the longtime CBS hit series M.A.S.H. where he won Emmy awards as an actor, writer, and director.  He also won a supporting actor Emmy for his work on The West Wing.
