Gas Prices Hike Up This Week Throughout Florida

Gas prices in Florida are up.

AAA says today's statewide average for a gallon of regular is $2.81, an increase of six cents a gallon over the past week.

The auto club blames the increase on strong demand, as families squeeze in one more vacation before the start of school.

Florida's most expensive gas is in West Palm Beach-Boca Raton with an average of $2.89 a gallon; the least expensive gas in Fort Myers-Cape Coral and Punta Gorda, where it averages $2.77 a gallon.
