Boynton To Enact Quiet Zones Regarding Brightline Trains

Wednesday night will mark the last time Boynton Beach residents will hear a horn every time a Brightline train moves through the neighborhood.

Quiet zones are going into effect on the Florida East Coast Railroad tracks in Boynton at one minute past midnight on Thursday.

Boynton is the last city in Palm Beach County to enact the quiet zones which utilize technology to allow the trains to move through intersections without causing a lot of noise.

Brightline runs 16 trains daily in each direction between West Palm Beach and Miami.

The city will hold a "Quiet Coffee Hour" to share more information to residents about the quiet zones on Thursday morning at East Ocean Cafe along Ocean Avenue.
