The home planet of Captain Spock from Star Trek might actually exist. Astronomers have discovered a new exoplanet that orbits 40 Eridani A, which is where the fictional planet, Vulcan, would be.
An exoplanet is a planet located outside our sun's solar system. The newly-discovered one is 16 light years away and twice the size of Earth. University of Florida astronomy professor Jian Ge says it's most likely uninhabitable because half of it faces a star, and is likely too hot. It might be possible to live on the other half, though. Ge says he wants the exoplanet to be named Vulcan.
