Gillum Holds 9-Point Lead Over DeSantis, Quinnipiac Survey Suggests

A poll that three weeks ago indicated the race for governor was too close to call is now showing something very different.

According to the latest Quinnipiac University survey of likely voters, Democrat Andrew Gillum has opened up a nine-point lead -- 54 to 45 percent -- over Republican Ron DeSantis.

Pollster Peter Brown says Gillum leads DeSantis in all groups except Republicans.

That includes a 20-point lead among women and a 16-point advantage among independent voters.
