Mother Thanks Police After Search Ends Tragically

The mother of a murdered Hallandale Beach woman is expressing her gratitude to the detectives who spent eight-years looking for Lynda Meier.

At a press conference at police headquarters, Phylis Meier says it is good to know that her daughter is no longer "alone," but said it as too early to talk about funeral arrangements.

A tip from the public led police to a shallow grave near a Miami Gardens canal where the remains were found.

The 40-year-old woman was on her way to her mother's house when she vanished back in 2010.

The FDLE says the investigation is ongoing and they are urging anyone with information to come forward in the case.
