Doctor Shot Inside VA Hospital in Riviera Beach

A doctor from the West Palm Beach VA Medical Center in Riviera Beach is recovering after being shot by a patient.

A double-amputee identified as 59-year-old Larry Ray Bon opened fire inside the hospital's emergency room last night.

The FBI says a doctor was shot in the neck while trying to subdue the gunman.

Investigators say Bon kept the weapon hidden under the cushion of his wheelchair.

He was about to undergo a mental health evaluation around 6:30 last night when he opened fire.

The FBI says Bon has an arrest warrant from Michigan and has not been cooperating with investigators.

The wounded doctor was treated at a different hospital and was sent home to recover.
