The U.S. is withdrawing American personnel from the U.S. embassy in Venezuela. Secretary of State Mike Pompeo said the decision comes as the situation in the South American country continues to deteriorate. U.S. relations with Venezuela have been fraught since January when the Trump administration recognized opposition leader Juan Guaido as the legitimate president.
