Navy Week will dock in Miami for the city's first time.
America's Navy is gearing up to host its signature outreach program in the Sunshine State March 24th- April 1st, 2019. Miami Florida is one of the 14 cities selected this year to learn about the needs of the nation.
As part of the festivities, the USS New York will anchor for public tours, and sailors will visit the local Boys and Girl's Clubs, museums and YMCA Family Centers. There will also be Navy divers, band performances, a parachute demonstration, and a whole lot more.
"Navy Weeks are designed to help Americans, and in this case, Miami area residents, understand why having a strong Navy is critical to the American way,' said Cmdr Linda Rojas, director of the Navy Office of Community Outreach.
