Two Bodies Recovered in Lauderdale Lakes Canal

Broward Sheriff’s divers and firefighters were unable to find two car crash victims until they surfaced this week.

Emergency crews responded after receiving a 911 call from a person saying two bodies were floating down the waterway.

On Saturday, a vehicle was found submerged in a canal near 3900 NW 31st Terrace. Divers were unable to recover the driver and passenger after conducting an extensive search.

“We are not releasing names at this time while the traffic homicide unit investigates,' said Broward Sheriff’s spokeswoman Joy Oglesby.

Broward Sheriff’s Office personnel and Oakland Park Fire Rescue confirm a man’s body was pulled from the canal on Monday before 9 a.m.
