House Republicans Release Report Countering Dem Impeachment Effort

With tomorrow’s House Judiciary Hearing looming, House Republicans have released a 110-page report summarizing their findings from the impeachment inquiry into President Trump. In it, Republicans accuse Democrats of conducting "an orchestrated campaign to upend our political system."

The report is a supplement – or really, a preemptive strike – to the Democrats' House Intelligence Committee report, which is set for release today. Republicans are staunchly defending the President, claiming he did not pressure the Ukrainian government to investigate the Bidens in exchange for foreign aid.

Obviously, Democrats see things very differently. "As the evidence conclusively shows,” Intel Committee Chair Adam Schiff tells lawmakers in a letter. “President Trump conditioned official acts— a White House meeting desperately desired by the new Ukrainian president and critical U.S. military assistance — on Ukraine announcing sham, politically-motivated investigations that would help President Trump's 2020 reelection campaign.”
