Miami-Dade and Broward Are Talking Phase 2

With less than 300 new coronavirus cases reported in Broward over the last 24 hours and the positivity rate remaining below 10% for more than a week, talks are increasing between County administrators to move in Phase II of reopening.

Broward Sheriff Gregory Tony is crediting residents.

He says the reopening plan needs to be strategic and his department will do its part to enforce the orders.

School officials in both Broward and Miami-Dade Counties are increasing their talks about reopening campuses to students.

School officials in both Broward and Miami-Dade Counties are thinking they may be able to get a limited number of students in desks earlier than initially anticipated if this trend continues.

Miami-Dade Superintendent Alberto Carvalho stresses the methodical process won't begin until key metrics are sustained for at least 14 days.
