Florida News That Impacts South Floridians - Oct. 19th

These are some of the biggest news from around the state that impacts you in South Florida. Early voting begins today across the state. From 7am to 7pm daily through Sunday, November 1st, eligible voters may vote in person at early voting locations. As a reminder, you do need a photo ID and you should wear a mask, though if you don't you'll still be allowed to vote. As early voting begins today, already 2.5 million Floridians have voted by mail. Democrats have outvoted Republicans by 468,000 by mail.

Still in 2020 Election mode, Kamala Harris is making two campaign stops in Florida today. She’s holding early voting mobilization rallies in Jacksonville and Orlando.

Now let's shift to COVID. Florida has seen a daily average uptick in new COVID-19 cases over the past week. The daily average of just over 2,900 cases is 300 more than a week ago. While there hasn’t been a spike in cases during phase three reopening, we have seen an upward trend in cases since October 4th.
