Florida News That Impacts You Nov. 3rd

This is a recap of some of the biggest news from around the state that impacts you in South Florida. Let's stated with the final early voting and vote by mail tallies accounted for from the Florida Division of Elections. Democrats have outvoted Republicans by just over 108,000 ballots entering Election Day, today. That compares to a lead of 96,450 on Election Day four years ago. 

It’s Election Day and polls have been open since 7am and will stay open until 7pm. As long as you’re in line before 7pm you’ll be allowed to vote. Remember to bring a photo ID. If you’re still holding a vote by mail ballot you may take that ballot to your precinct, have it canceled by a poll worker, and receive an in-person ballot to be voted onsite. As of now, 63.8% of all registered voters have already voted. Now, Florida featured the most campaign adverting in the country this cycle by a wide margin. Public disclosure reports show nearly $300 million in political advertising Florida has occurred this cycle. It’s approximately a quarter of the total spent nationally.

In other news, Norwegian Cruise Lines and other of its related brands announced all cruises will be canceled through the remainder of the year.

Lastly, a new study from Renofi projects Florida’s housing market to remain one of the hottest in the country over the next decade with the Miami, Fort Lauderdale, West Palm Beach metro areas being one of the top five markets in the country. According to the report average home prices are projected to rise above $500,000 by 2030 in South Florida.
