Hepatitis A Outbreak Continues Spreading In Florida

The Hepatitis A outbreak continues spreading across South Florida with 7 confirmed cases in Broward County, making it a high-risk zone. Three people have died in Martin County from the liver disease and 6 cases are reported in Palm Beach County. Florida Department of Health Dr. Alex Shaw says Hepatitis A is usually spread person-to-person through contaminated food or drinks. Symptoms include diarrhea, nausea, jaundice and fatigue and may not appear until 2-to-6 weeks after infection. Overall, there are 12-hundred reported cases in Florida from January of 2018 to April of this year.
