There's now a way for Floridians stuck in Haiti to contact state officials through an online Florida Division of Emergency Management PORTAL.
Floridians in Haiti or their family members can fill out a questionnaire about their immediate needs.
Emergency Management Director Kevin Guthrie says, "We will do everything possible to help Floridians and Americans who need help in Haiti."
More than 15,000 people have been displaced on the island nation in recent days due to the violent gang takeover of the country, according to the UN.
